About this course

Computers, mobile phones, cash machines, games consoles - information and technology is all around us.

IT is an industry which is growing every year and becoming increasingly more important and professional working within the industry helps businesses to become more successful.

This could be training others to use IT systems, developing software and websites, providing technical support or setting up and maintaining hardware and networks.

What will I learn?

IT Telecoms apprentices will learn about customer care, system security, managing software development, and basic IT applications.

• Skills Element - Level 2 Functional Skills English

• Employment Rights and Responsibilities 
• Personal Learning Thinking Skills

Entry requirements

Minimum requirement is Level 2 or GCSE grade C in Maths and English.

All applicants will be required to complete initial assessments in Maths and English.

Depending on the framework applied for, you will also need to complete the ICT initial assessment.

Study, assessment and qualifications

Method of Delivery
The Competence Element will be assessed in the workplace using evidence to build a portfolio.

The Knowledge Element is delivered at our Wiltshire College Trowbridge, Chippenham and Salisbury campuses, as a day release programme. 

Functional Skills will be delivered as part of the day release programme.  A mixture of on and off the job training provides a variety of learning opportunities across the whole programme.
