The HABC Level 2 Award in Food Safety is a 1 day classrom based course ideal for anyone working in the catering and hopsitality industry (or those about to start work in the industry).
What will I learn?
Subjects covered include hazards and controls, food safety management and temperature controls, food poisoning control, personal hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, food pests, and the role of the food handler in keeping food safe.
There are no prerequisites for this qualification.
It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English or Maths or equivalent.
Study, assessment and qualifications
A workbook will be sent to you prior to the start of the course. We strongly recommend that you read the workbook in order to prepare for this intensive course and exam.
The exam takes place following the course and consists of a 30 multiple choice questionnaire lasting 1 hour. The pass mark is 66%.
Additional costs and information
Fees include course book, exam, mid morning and mid afternoon refreshments. VAT is not applicable. Lunch is available to purchase from the Campus refectory.
Individuals achieving this qualification can the progress onto any of the HABC Level 3 Food Safety qualifications, which are ideal for those wishing to work in a supervisory role.
