About this course

The Professional Certificate in Education / the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (if you have a degree) are two year courses and have been designed to be innovative in its approach to teaching and learning through their content and assessment strategies.

These qualifications will provide trainees with the specialised skills and knowledge and nationally recognised qualifications that will give them a route to employment in a large and diverse sector.

Trainees on the programmes are supported to apply the learning from the programmes to their practice.

  • To develop your practical teaching skills.
  • To develop a wide range of inclusive teaching and learning approaches that promote equality of opportunity and cater for individual difference.
  • To develop skills of reflective practice.

To develop your skills as an effective reflective practitioner, seminars will be held at the beginning of each semester to which you are expected to attend.

Support for students studying Professional Certificate in Education / Professional Graduate Certificate in Education:

We understand that going into part time education can have a big effect on people's lives.  There may be many questions you want to ask before you start on a course.  There may also be times during your studies when you will want to seek information and advice from a reliable source.

Wiltshire College has a dedicated independent team of advice and guidance staff for the benefit of both students and potential students.

Available throughout the year, they provide information, advice and confidential support services for all students.  They are there to enable you to make informed decisions about your studies and to help you deal with any difficulties that may arise.

On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a Professional Certificate in Educaton or a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education, accredited by the University of Greenwich.
