About this course
This one-day Lantra Award accredited course aims to provide introductory tree survey and inspection training at a basic level for estate managers, tree wardens, grounds maintenance staff, rangers and other persons of a non-arboricultural background or with limited arboricultural knowledge, who are not experienced in tree inspection, but need to recognise basic hazards in the course of their work. Additionally, this course may be useful for those who work with trees in a voluntary capacity.
What will I learn?

On completion, you should be able to identify obvious defects from ground level and then to report your findings to a line manager.

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements associated with this course although you are expected to have some working knowledge of trees and their identification.
Study, assessment and qualifications
Assessment is based on a survey / inspection exercise which will be undertaken at the end of the course.
Additional costs and information

There are no additional course costs. A copy of the Lantra Awards workbook for Basic Tree Survey and Inspection is included in the course fee.

You should bring with you suitable footwear/clothing for outside inspections and indoor sessions, as well as lunch/refreshments.
