About this course
This course will enable you to improve your knowledge of car maintenance and take an in-depth look at how a vehicle works, including major operating systems.

It is suitable for those who have completed our Car Maintenance - Beginners course or similar, or have a good working knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance already.

What will I learn?
The course will enable you to improve your knowledge of car maintenance.

On completion, you should be able to:

  • Carry out repairs and general maintenance on your vehicle
  • Better understand how to follow maintenance instructions in vehicle manuals
  • Demonstrate a better understanding of safety within the workshop and when working on your vehicle
  • Fully prepare your vehicle for the MOT
Entry requirements
You should have an existing understanding of car maintenance, having completed the Car Maintenance - Beginners course or similar previously.
Study, assessment and qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes, and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.

There are no final qualifications associated with this course.

Additional costs and information
You will need to bring overalls and hard-capped boots with you for working in the workshop.
