About this course
This course is for anyone who has a digital camera they would like to learn to use to its full potential, DSLR, Bridge and Compact camera users all welcome.
What will I learn?

You will learn how to correctly expose an image using manual and semi auto settings, as well as tips and tricks for better photographs, composition rules and generally finding your way around your camera.

On completion you should be able to:

  • Expose images correctly in a variety of situations
  • Focus images correctly
  • Control white balance
  • Compose an interesting shot
  • See potential for editing images

  • Aperture and shutter speed
  • ISO
  • Depth of field
  • Focusing
  • White balance
  • Composition
  • Portrait tipsĀ 
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements associated with this course, however you should have access to your own camera that you can use and bring with you to the classes.
Study, assessment and qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertakenĀ  with you by the course tutor. There are no final qualifications associated with this course.
Additional costs and information

There are no additional course costs. You should bring with you:

  • Camera with fully charged battery
  • Instruction manual
  • Lenses
  • Tripod if you have one
  • Lunch
  • Small change for refreshments
  • Warm clothes for outside photography session
