If you have some experience
drawing and painting and would like to explore a range of new, exciting media
and techniques, this course is for you.
You will explore all facets of portrait and landscape drawing and painting,
using a wide variety of different media, giving you the opportunity to try new
things and meet like-minded people.
What will I learn?
The aim of the course is
to give you the confidence and skills to experiment with a diverse range of
tools and processes.
On completion, you should be able to:
Understand and apply the rules of
Be expressive and creative with colour;
Use oil sticks to make rich, flowing, tactile images;
The following topics will be covered during the course:
The rules of composition and colour.
Working on a variety of scales.
An introduction to oil sticks: characteristics; colour palette; techniques;
compatibility; drying times.
Collaborative art work: history; examples; processes.
There are no formal
entry requirements, however some experience in drawing and painting would be
Study, assessment and qualifications
There is no obligation to
study at home but you will benefit from undertaking some additional study
between course sessions. Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning
outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor. There are no final qualifications associated with this course.

you some small change for tea/coffee refreshment.
