About this course
This course is aimed at existing and newly registered gas installation or servicing engineers who hold CCN1 Core Gas Safety and one of either CENWAT1 (boilers),CKR1 (cookers) or HTR1 (fires).
What will I learn?

The course will train you to a level of competence needed to carry out a successful combustion performance analysis using electronic combustion testing equipment, when installing and maintaining gas burning appliances in accordance with the current standards.

This will include instruction and guidance on the application and use of suitable sampling probes.

You will carry out a combustion performance analysis on open flued room sealed and a flueless gas appliance to confirm that they are operating in a safe or unsafe manner.

Entry requirements

You must already hold CCN1 Core Gas Safety and one of either CENWAT1 (boilers), CKR1 (cookers) or HTR1 (fires).

An interview is required for this course.

Study, assessment and qualifications

The training (if required) will take half a day and the assessment half a day. This is a stand alone assessment which concentrates on gas appliance combustion performance (CO or CO2 ratio) and does not assess CO or CO2 levels in buildings.

Additional costs and information

All relevant reference books, British Standards, BPEC literature, manufacturers instructions, pens, calculators and tools will be provided.

You should ensure that you have protective clothes and suitable safety footwear for the assessment which will take place in workshop conditions.
