About this course

This course is recommended by the NICEIC for all those involved in inspection and testing. It is suitable for practising electricians and electrical/mechanical maintenance engineers with a current qualification in the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

What will I learn?

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • The theory relating to earthing, inspection and testing
  • Completion of relevant documentation in respect of initial verification and certification in accordance with BS7671, including a schedule of items to be inspected
  • Continuity, Earth, Insulation Resistance and Functional Tests
  • Electrical Installation Certificates
Entry requirements

You must hold a current qualification in 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and be an experienced practitioner.

Please note, this course is not suitable for newly qualified domestic installers.

Study, assessment and qualifications
The course content and exams are based on the current 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. An informal mock exam is included during the course using exemplar questions.
Additional costs and information

This qualification replaces City & Guilds 2391 Inspecting, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.

Where required, it is possible to attend one module only i.e. either 2394 or 2395.
