About this course
This course is perfect for anybody who has a basic understand of French, either through your own experience or from completing our French - Beginners course.
What will I learn?

Consolidate and extend your knowledge of the vocabulary and expressions needed to deal with everyday situations in a French-speaking country. You will be encouraged to practise these expressions in class and to reinforce your learning by doing written exercises at home.

Grammar exercises will also be introduced as the need arises. Students will practise the four language skills of reading, listening, speaking and some writing, with the emphasis of the course is on speaking and listening.

Topics will include:

  • Eating at restaurants
  • Using public transport
  • Booking accommodation
  • Weather
  • Talking about what you did on holiday
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course, however you should already have an understanding of the French language, either through personal experience or previous study on our French - Beginners course.
Study, assessment and qualifications

Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor. There are no final qualifications associated with this course.

Additional costs and information

Please bring writing materials to the course.

Your tutor will ask you to purchase a course book, this will be discussed in your first session.

It is recommended that you do a little homework each week to help you progress with your language learning.
