About this course

This course is aimed at practicing Plumbers holding a City & Guilds Basic Craft or NVQ Level 2 qualification who require a certificate in the understanding and implementation of the current water supply regulations.

The course will provide you with a better understanding of the water supply regulations, which is a requirement of some contractors.

What will I learn?
You will learn about installations, back flow prevention devices, accessibility of pipework, testing of pipework and much more.
Entry requirements

You should already hold a City & Guilds Basic Craft or NVQ Level 2 qualification.

Study, assessment and qualifications

The assessment process covers theoretical aspects of the water supply regulations in conjunction with a practical visual assessment.

You will need to provide 2 passport photographs and your national insurance number prior to starting the course.

Additional costs and information

Each section of the study pack has self-assessment questions that will check your understanding and knowledge as you progress.

The course requires you to study at home in preparation for the assessment. The water supply regulations study books will be sent to you prior to attendance at the college.

For the assessment, the relevant paperwork, water supply regulations book and the required British standards will be provided for you.

After successfully passing the course you can apply to WRAS (Water Regulation Advisory Service - Telephone number 01495 248454) to become an Approved Plumber. To become an Approved Plumber you must also have current ''Public Liability'' insurance.
