About this course

The Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (England) is specifically designed for learners wanting to work in Adult Social Care in England in the following roles:

What will I learn?

This qualification allows learners to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Adult care in England. It covers a range of topics.

Learners will be required to achieve 70 credits overall. 36 must be achieved from the mandatory units and another 34 credits from a choice of optional group A and B units.

Mandatory Units are;

  • Work in partnership in health and social acer or children and young people's settings.
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Personal development in health, social care or children's and young people's settings.
  • Equality and diversity in health, social care or children's and young people's settings.
  • Facilitate person centred assessment to support wellbeing of individuals
  • Facilitate support planning to ensure positive outcomes for individuals and to support well being
  • Understand personalistaionin care and support services
  • Health and safety in health and social care settings
  • Professional practice in health and social care for adults or young people
  • Safeguard children and yuong people who are present in the adult social care sector
  • Develop, maintain and use records and reports
  • Understand safeguarding and protaction in health and social care settings.

There are a large choice of optional units available to chose from depending on your job role.

 

Entry requirements

Entry requirements are as described above. You do have to be working in one of the roles as mentioned above to allow for assessment of competence within the working environment.

Study, assessment and qualifications

At the end of your studies you will be awarded a City & Guilds  Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (England)

 

Length of the course is 2 years, where you are assessed within the work environment. Please note that this is a work based learning course and you will not be required to attend College.

You will be required to allow a minimum of 6 hours a week home study.

There are no additional costs. However, you may wish to purchase some reference books to assist with your studies.

This qualification will be the accepted qualification for registration and regulation where appropriate and can demonstrate continuing professional development.
