About this course

The aim of this course is to enable you to maintain and extend your spoken French.

What will I learn?

On completion, you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate your enthusiasm for, and interest in, the French language and the francophone world
  • Demonstrate that you have increased your vocabulary and knowledge of grammar
  • Demonstrate that you have improved your listening skills
  • Demonstrate increased confidence in using the French language

The following topics will be covered during the course:

  • Travel and tourism
  • French speaking world
  • French board games
  • Debate
  • Reading stories and predicting endings
  • Giving and defending opinions
  • Class activities will include games, student presentations, role plays, group work, and pair conversation

Study, assessment and qualifications

Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.

You should bring with you writing materials and a French-English dictionary.
