About this course

To develop knowledge and skills in the understanding of the general legal framework, and of specific legal areas relating to business, recognising the need to seek further specialist legal advice where necesary

What will I learn?

During this course, you will learn the following skills:

  • Identify the essential elements of the legal system, including the main sources of law
  • Recognise and apply the appropriate legal rules relating to the law of obligations
  • Explain and apply the law relating to employment relationships
  • Distinguish between alternative forms and contitutions of business organisations
  • Recognise and compare types of capital and financing of companies
  • Describe and explain how companies are managed, administered and regulated
  • Recognise the legal implications relating to insolvency law
  • Demonstrate an understanding of corporate fraudulent and criminal behaviour
Entry requirements

AAT LEVEL 4 graduates/ACCA F1-F4/Bachelor Degree (more details on ACCA website please)

Study, assessment and qualifications

The college will have guided study sessions (taught classes) of approximately 36 hours with 9 hours revision sessions. Learners are expected to add considerable time to this for their private study as these papers are demanding and nothing less will gain a pass.

Part-time students must bear in mind that the examiners make no allowance for method of study.

Additional costs and information

Candidates must pay registration fees themselves with the professional body (ACCA) and pay for exam fees for every paper they want to sit for, as well as their annual subscription fees every year. Candidates must book there exam location while booking for exams (college recommends Bournemouth or Reading) depending on your proximity. All these can easily be paid online at
