About this course

To develop the knowledge and skills expected of a finance manager, in relation to investment, financing, and dividend policy decisions

What will I learn?

During this course you will learn the following disciplines:

  • Discuss the role and purpose of the financial management function
  • Assess and discuss the impact of economic environment on financial management
  • Discuss and apply working capital management techniques
  • Carry out effective investment appraisal
  • Identify and evaluate alternative sources of business finance
  • Discuss and apply principles of business and asset valuations
  • Explain and apply risk management techniques in business
Entry requirements

AAT LEVEL 4 graduates/ACCA F1-F4/Bachelor Degree (more details on ACCA website please)

Study, assessment and qualifications

The college will have guided study sessions (taught classes) of approximately 36 hours with 9 hours revision sessions.

Learners are expected to add considerable time to this for their private study as these papers are demanding and nothing less will gain a pass. Part-time students must bear in mind that the examiners make no allowance for method of study.

Additional costs and information

Candidates must pay registration fees themselves with the professional body (ACCA) and pay for exam fees for every paper they want to sit for, as well as their annual subscription fees every year. Candidates must book there exam location while booking for exams (college recommends Bournemouth or Reading) depending on your proximity. All these can easily be paid online at

Choose the next skills level paper(s) to sit for (F4-F9). Please note that this paper will be developed further at Professional level P4 Advanced Financial Management (optional paper)

On completion of ACCA Skills Level papers F4-F9, you can continue to Professional Level papers (P1-P3) all compulsory, and choose 2 out of 4 from P4-P7 papers to gain full chartered status and/or gain a BSc honours degree by writing a dissertation with Oxford Brookes University while continuing with your Professional papers level.
