About this course

This qualification is suitable for those who work or want to develop skills and knowledge required for working in the health and social care sector. This qualification is useful to those completing work experience and would like to gain a qualification alongside.

 

What will I learn?

This course allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the health and social care sector.

There are no specific entry requirements.

Study, assessment and qualifications

Once you have completed the course you will achieve a City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.

To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 6 credits from the following 5 Mandatory units;

  • Introduction to the adult social care sector - 1 credit
  • Introduction to the values amd principles of adult social care - 1 credit
  • Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult socail care - 1 credit
  • Awareness of communication in adult social care - 2 credits
  • Awareness of the role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker - 1 credit.

Learners can enroll onto this course at any time of the year and its duration is 6 months. You will be required to meet your Assessor in the College as directed by them.
