About this course

This is an introductory one day course that will teach you how to work with open source software, for example WordPress or Joomla.

This course is designed for you to either work with your own website, or to practise on a template. It does not teach how to set up a template.

  • To be in control of your website content
  • To save time by being able to amend text, add in new images and write blogs
  • You will learn in a relaxed environment and be instructed by an experienced, qualified IT Tutor and receive support and guidance at all times during the course
What will I learn?

This course will teach you how to create your website structure including menus and pages, and how to populate pages with content.

On successful completion of this course, you will:

  • have a sound working knowledge of the basic features of a CMS system
  • have learned how to create menu structures
  • have learned to create pages with a range of content
  • be able to create articles and assign to menus
  • have learned about widgets and modules
  • be able to explore how to use extensions and plugins
