About this course

Learning a language can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience, whether you’d like to continue studying for pleasure, travel, business, or simply to meet like-minded people. Come and join our class which is taught in a friendly, relaxed and adult orientated manner.  This ten week course is the final part of a three part course.

What will I learn?

The emphasis will be primarily on consolidating previous knowledge and extending vocabulary, structures and fluency. Listening, speaking, reading and writing activities are designed to maximise your confidence and progress. The course will concentrate on the four language skills speaking and listening and will extend grammar knowledge. Students will be encouraged to express themselves and give opinions in Italian.

The topics covered will include:

  • Weather
  • Driving in Italy (petrol station, car breakdown and roads)
  • Sport, hobby and free time
  • Arranging to go out
  • Shops and department stores
  • Shopping for  clothes
  • Holidays
Entry requirements

This course is suitable for adult learners who have completed the Italian Beginners (Part 1) and  (Part 2) courses at Wiltshire College or at a similar establishment. It is also suitable for those who have previous basic knowledge of the language and who feel they can cope at a basic level with the topics and grammar.

Study, assessment and qualifications

Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.  There are no final qualifications associated with this course.

Additional costs and information

You will be asked to buy a course book, this will be discussed in your first session.

Please also bring an A4 folder, paper and pens.

To get maximum benefit from the course, students should expect to do up to an hour at home each week to reinforce the work covered in class. Your tutor will advise you on what work to do at home.
